Our Dear Customers,

We’re delighted to be back online and trading with you again.

We apologise for the website being down for a few months. For those of you who haven’t heard the story, we were told on March 30 that the team then in charge of Planet Organic had given Notice of Administration and we had two weeks to rescue the business. The website closed down at some point in that month-long process.

As founder of Planet Organic, I put a bid and a team together, and a new consortium bought Planet Organic from the Administrator on April 25. The new company Bioren bought the assets of the old company and is trading as Planet Organic. By rescuing Planet, we saved ten stores and over 200 jobs. We’re looking forward to what we can achieve in our communities with this beautiful business.

A Transition Team of four people with history and experience at Planet has returned to guide and support our people and the business through this process. With me are my husband Brian Elliott (ran the business for 10 years), Peter Marsh (ran the business for 13 years) and Al Overton (buying for 19 years).

We are in our tenth week of stabilising the business. Through the administration process in April, the business lost a lot of product that we’ve been working to bring back with new contracts between our suppliers and Bioren. We have gone from very empty shelves to over 80% of product back in stock in store - and more coming back every day.

Here’s what we’ve achieved:

• Our bakery products are back in store.
• Food to Go Mix & Match is at Westbourne Grove, Muswell Hill and Queen’s Park.
• Planet Organic Grab & Go is back.
• Unpackaged and Planet Organic own-label products have returned.
• Promos are up and running again.
• In-store tastings are in full flow.
• Teams are doing coffee trainings.
• Our Planet Organic team training on organic, healthy and products resumes in July.

We’ve simplified e-commerce and are no longer offering fresh foods but are listing our grocery emporium and Health & Bodycare for you to peruse. We’re excited about returning to our focus on organic and finding new products for you to try. We’re back on our mission to promote health in the community and support the earth’s biodiversity.
